Coinciding with the 70th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz movie, Naples Zoo is celebrating with Lions, Tigers, and Bears, ‘09!  On March 21, two eight-month-old purebred South African lion cubs made their debut in a newly renovated exhibit. And this summer from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day, the Zoo is hosting two stunning white tigers in their Tiger Forest exhibit. Rounding out the famous phrase is Black Bear Hammock opening on May 23. This will be the largest Black bear exhibit at any accredited zoo east of the Mississippi and features a natural habitat area as well as a backyard habitat designed to educate guests about living safely with bears.

Much more than a walk-through zoo, guests enjoy a full day of fun presentations with a conservation focus featuring Planet Predator and Serpents: Fangs & Fiction. Guests board a guided cruise past islands of monkeys, lemurs, and apes plus enjoy keeper talks, alligator feeding, a guided tour in the historic garden on Sundays, snake sunbathing, and a wild butterfly garden. Plus get within an inch of big cats at the all new Leopard Rock, see the rare fosas of Madagascar, and see Africa’s top four predators in Southwest Florida’s only nationally accredited zoo.
